The science behind CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting was developed in 2005 by two doctors working with Harvard Medical School. They realized that fat cells can be removed by being frozen and then destroyed. The process, called cryolipolysis, distributes extreme cold to the area(s) to be treated. This causes the fat cells to become frozen. Once this happens, the cells are broken up by massage and then drain into the body’s lymphatic system, where they are flushed from the body entirely over the following weeks.
