Can CoolSculpting Help with Excess Fat?
Are you just a few pounds short of your goal weight? It can be quite frustrating when exercise and diet don’t result in you reaching your fitness goals. Sometimes, all it takes is a minor change in your weight loss and toning regimen, to make all the difference in the world.
CoolSculpting is a state-of-the-art body contouring treatment that is designed to help people get rid of their stubborn fat and achieve their fitness goals. Genesis Lifestyle Medicine is a leading provider of CoolSculpting in Las Vegas.
How does CoolSculpting work?
CoolSculpting is a revolutionary body contouring procedure developed by a Harvard Medical School scientist. It is based on the process of Cryolipolysis, more commonly referred to as “fat freezing”.
Your fat cells can remain active only at a specific temperature. When they’re exposed to colder temperatures, they start to freeze and the application of gentle pressure can destroy the fat cells. Later on, the unwanted fat cells will be thrown out by your body through the lymphatic system.
In the CoolSculpting procedure, we use the power of cold to freeze stubborn fat and eliminate them, helping you achieve the toned, svelte body you’ve been working towards. We follow the cryolipolysis process with a gentle massage of the treatment areas, to facilitate crumbling of the frozen fat cells. In the course of a few weeks, these fat cells will be washed out of your body, leaving behind toned muscles.
What areas can be treated with CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is a very body-friendly treatment, ideal for eliminating excess fat in multiple areas of the body, such as:
- Neck
- Arms
- Thighs
- Abdomen
- Back
- Hips
- Buttocks
- Flanks (love handles)
- Chest
You can simultaneously treat multiple regions in a single setting, allowing you to address stubborn pockets of fat throughout the body. If you require full-body CoolSculpting, our Las Vegas MedSpa will schedule the necessary rounds of treatment to ensure you get the best results.
What to expect during the CoolSculpting process
The CoolSculpting process at our Las Vegas med spa starts with a consultation. We identify your eligibility for the treatment and identify the areas that require CoolSculpting. The treatment is non-invasive and is relatively painless. You may feel minor discomfort when the cooling starts, but this sensation should disappear quickly.
During the treatment session you will normally be asked to lie down on the treatment chair and then the CoolSculpting gel pad will be placed on the treatment area. We place the suction cups securely on the pad. Then the machine powering the suction cups will be started.
You will feel a gentle pulling sensation, while cooling spreads across the treatment site. Once the CoolSculpting is complete, we will remove the suction cups and gel pad. Then we will slowly massage the treatment sites to break-up the frozen fat cells.
The entire treatment will last for approximately an hour, depending on the number of areas to be addressed.
Recovering post treatment
Immediately after the treatment, the treated areas will feel a little sore and cramped and they may be inflamed. These symptoms will generally subside within a few days. There is no downtime and you can resume work.
You may not feel anything different right after the procedure. In fact, you may look like you haven’t lost any inches post treatment. Generally, about 2 to 3 weeks after the treatment, you’ll notice the gradual toning of your body begin and at around 3 months post-treatment, you’ll see that the loose pockets of fat have disappeared. By this time, the frozen and disintegrated fat cells have been discarded through the lymphatic system.
FAQs About CoolSculpting
How much does CoolSculpting cost?
Many variables, including the patient's location, the treatment area's size, and the number of sessions required, might affect the cost of CoolSculpting at our Las Vegas clinic. A complete treatment course of CoolSculpting normally costs between $2,000 and $4,000.
How long does it take to see results?
Most people start to see results about three weeks after their first CoolSculpting session. The full effects may not show up for up to three months as the body keeps getting rid of the dead fat cells.
Are the results permanent?
As long as the patient follows a healthy lifestyle and doesn't gain a lot of weight following the procedure, the benefits of CoolSculpting may be long-lasting.
Can CoolSculpting get rid of cellulite?
While CoolSculpting may successfully decrease fat in particular locations, it is not intended to treat cellulite. After CoolSculpting, some patients could see a little improvement in the way their cellulite looks, but this is not a guarantee.
What does CoolSculpting feel like?
The treated region may feel pulling, tugging, or pinching throughout the treatment, but it should not hurt. The treatment's cooling technique may make the region chilly and more comfortable as well.
Is one session of CoolSculpting worth it?
The patient's own objectives and the quantity of fat they wish to target will determine this. Although some patients could have positive benefits after only one session, others might need more than one to get the desired result.
Are there any side effects to CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting causes transient redness, swelling, and bruising. Some people report numbness or tingling, although it usually goes away within a few weeks.
What happens if I gain weight again?
If a patient gains weight following CoolSculpting, the residual fat cells in the treated region may grow, invalidating the benefits. To get long-term outcomes, patients should stay healthy and prevent weight gain.
