How does joint pain treatment work?
At Genesis Lifestyle Medicine, we utilize customized treatments and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy. Both of these treatments use growth factors from the patient’s own body, which means it is completely natural, with no risk of an allergic reaction. The treatment plan consists of a series of growth factor injections and periodic follow-ups to monitor the patient’s progress.
Joint pain therapy involves taking a patient’s cells from their very own blood, bone marrow, or fat tissues. Once these are taken out of the body, they can be injected back into it — directly into the damaged area. Here they will go to work repairing and replacing the problematic tissue. The result is much less pain and an improved quality of life.
PRP therapy uses the patient’s own plasma to repair and heal tissue. Our plasma contains platelets, which house powerful growth factors. These growth factors start the repair process for torn cartilage that cushions the joints, torn tendons, and damaged nerves. The result is improved mobility and pain-free movement. PRP therapy is done with a simple blood draw, a separation of the red blood cells from the plasma, and an injection of the concentrated plasma back into the damaged joint.
