However, unlike conventional tattoos, the deposited pigments are only placed into the surface layers of your skin. Eventually, the pigmented cells will be replaced by unpigmented ones; at that point, you would need a touch-up treatment.
Areola Tattooing Recovery
Areola tattooing does involve some minor breaking of the skin's surface, so there is some degree of recovery involved.
First Two Days
Expect some redness and swelling for the first two days after your areola tattooing. If it has not subsided by the fifth day, contact your provider.

If the area is oozing, clean it by gently blotting it.
Days 3-7
Scabbing will have developed over the treated skin, which may feel tight and itchy. Avoid picking at the scabs. Discomfort can be relieved through the use of a moisturizer.
Days 7-14
